In 2012, Reid Fleshman and Ellie Duty began the Reforestation Project at Destiny Village Orphanage in Pierre Payan, Haiti. In the late 2000’s, the orphanage purchased an additional plot of land for a boys dormitory. At the time of purchase, this land had minimal vegetation and rocky surface soil. This past spring, a P81 team visited Destiny Village and we are excited to report that these trees and bushes have shown considerable health and growth over the past two years. The young boys at the orphanage have done an outstanding job of nurturing these plant, and many are becoming more knowledge in the art of agriculture.
