CHRISTMAS FOR SHAW
Earlier this month, the students of Club 81 from Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School made the decision to provide gifts for underprivileged girls at Shaw Elementary in Tampa. The club members purchased forty gifts ranging from board games to barbies. The team wrapped each gift and hand delivered them on Friday the 17th.
CHOLERA RELIEF TRIP
To help battle the cholera outbreak in central Haiti, Project 81 sent a medical team to Village 81, Montrouis and Dessalines. Dr. John Hudson and Stephanie Houghton, a registered nurse, led the effort. Hundreds were treated for stomach pain and diarrhea.
STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Project 81 team has made the decision to provide scholarships to 81 Haitian children in the city of Dessalines. Public education is not free throughout the nation, and as a result, many families cannot afford the $98 per year that is necessary for enrollment.
